Meet Sammy.
After waiting "5 years according to Hudson" he finally got his puppy!
From Newfoundland, dachshund, corgi, cattle dog - he finally decided on a Mom approved dog - Australian Shepard. Sadly, we kept looking at the Shelter for a good fit for our family with Mom's requirements but none fit an agreement for us all.
We searched and searched for a puppy for all those breeds and the stars finally aligned!
From the shelter, other islands,
So many scams out there, so many breeds, so much money.....and a challenge of getting a puppy in Maui. In order to come to Maui from the mainland, they have to be 4 months old in order to get a rabies test and vaccination. This made things a bit of a challenge. Finally, the stars aligned and Hudson did the whole process himself! He found and contacted the Craigslist ad, set up a FaceTime, corresponded with the guy on all the details and kept up with him until it was time for puppy to come to Maui. Pup was on Kona and the guy was beyond helpful, kind, trustworthy, passionate and overall animal lover. He came from a special place. Very proud of Hudson for proving to us that he was ready for the responsibility and for doing the whole process on his own.
To make things even more fun, when we FaceTimed the guy the first thing he said on the phone was, "WOAH - you are my son's twin!! Immediately got his son on the phone and he was right, he looked just like Hudson but 14 and 6 feet tall!! Wonder if Hudson will be like that in a year?? Gotta keep up with pup.
Hudson was soooo patient and enjoyed the whole process. Not sure who was more excited - me or him!
Hudson and I have a thing for getting animals :)
Kittens, guinea pigs, rabbit, now pup. He knows who to go to...haha
Look who's coming to Maui! He boarded Kona. Poor little guy - hope he has a safe flight.
